Real Monarch's Game
After
school, we hurried and got ready to go to the Salt Lake Monarch’s game (the
semi-pro soccer team) at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. We rode down with our friends, Danielle, Abigale, Preslie and Adalynn (Scott and Alan didn’t come since it was bishopric night).
It was raining the whole way down. We brought coats, gloves, umbrellas, and
blankets plus sandwiches and stuff to eat for dinner before going into the
stadium. Brittney and Preslie’s team were able to be the “Dream Team” and
walk the players out on to the field. Luckily, it stopped raining while we sat
in the car eating. It did start sprinkling again about halfway through the game
for about 10 minutes. After the game, the Monarch players came and signed the
girl’s shirts and scarves (Brittney’s coach has connections) plus we stayed and
got more signatures. I think the girls got about 12 signatures plus the mascot “Theo”
to sign their things. We didn’t get home until 10:30 but it was a fun night and
worth the loss the sleep.

Soccer in the POURING RAIN
Mallory and Hayley played in the pouring rain in
Bountiful today!!! Soccer games are only canceled if there is lighting!! They didn’t have any subs but the played exceptionally well. They
ended up winning 8-0 (Mallory scored twice). They were sopping wet and cold
to the bone but they didn’t give up!

Even though Mallory and Hayley were frozen, the wanted to stop and get ice cream on the way home. Our new thing is to stop at Smith's (every once in awhile) and everyone picks out their own carton of ice cream-- same price as a small shake and you can enjoy it for a day or two (Mallory eats here in a day or two but some of us make it last a whole week)!

Team BBQ and Glow Stick People
Tonight we had a Utah United Team family barbeque at Hailee Grieco's grandparents home in St. George. They were so gracious to invite us all over. Everyone brought something to share and we had a great time. The girls and all the siblings made themselves into glow stick people. We walked up the street and got a lot of honks from the cars passing by. It was a fun night!

St. George Ice Breakers Tournament 2016
We went to St. George for the annual St. George Ice-Breakers tournament for Mallory and Hayley. Last week, Mallory, Hayley and Sarah Strong made a plan for the weekend! Too funny! I wonder how many things will actually happen!!
We arrived Friday night about 9:30. There are several other families here at the same hotel and the girls have loved that. Their first game today they lost 5-2. We were a little rusty the first half-- trying to remember how to play outside. By the time they remembered, it was a little too late. Mallory made both goals in the first game.
The second game was a lot better, we won 5-1 and Mallory scored two of the goals. The girls swam last night and had a scavenger hunt and had a great time together. We bought pizza at the Domino's Pizza nearby and the girls enjoyed eating and swimming and moving from room to room! Good times!

Indoor Soccer--Utah United
Indoor soccer has FINALLY started up again for Mallory and Hayley. Their team took December and January off (which was really nice from a parent standpoint) but Mallory and Hayley have been chomping at the bit to start again. They have had a rough time going to Brittney's games the past two months knowing that they are not playing! It has been really fun to watch them play. Our team is playing at two different places so they will get their indoor soccer fix!
Hayley has played goalie a few times and she takes it pretty serious. It stresses me out watching her in the goalie box but she is also fun to watch. Hayley has pretty good footwork, so sometimes she will roll the ball out to herself and take it down the field leaving our goalie box wide open-- most teams aren't expecting it and she goes down and gets a great pass off to another teammate.
Our girls are so blessed to play with such wonderful teammates--they love to have their friends come over after games or practice and hang out together. Here are a few pictures from their first games.....

Brittney
Here is our favorite little eight year old practicing the piano before school. Brittney likes to get up early, read for 30 minutes, and practice her piano before school. Her she is, glasses and all, practicing. She is becoming quite the good little piano player-- she takes it pretty seriously!
We love our little B!

Utah United Indoor Game
Mallory and Hayley had another indoor game today 7:30 a.m. (I really like the 1 and 2 in the afternoon games). They won 15 or so to zero. Mallory made about 4 goals and Hayley made
one too! Hayley was really excited (Hayley has been playing solely defense for awhile so this goal was big). Hayley played goalie for about 12 minutes
and did an amazing job—she just jumps on the ball whenever it comes in the box (she just pounces on it!). !
It was fun to watch them play.

Mallory and Hayley's Utah United Indoor Soccer Team
I had to take a screen shot of the standings board for Mallory and Hayley's indoor soccer team. They both played in the first four games (they probably will not be playing the all the rest of the games because only 10 of the 15 girls go to each game so they get more playing time). We were excited to see Mallory with 9 goals and 6 assists so far! They have played really well this season together.

Soccer Halloween Scrimmage
Tonight, Mallory and Hayley's Soccer team- Utah United, had a little scrimmage with another team. Everyone was decked out in their Halloween costumes with cleats and shin guards. Mallory went dressed as a candy corn witch and Hayley a ballerina with a black, hot pink and purple tutu. (Mallory kept her pointed hat at home.) It was such a fun night! They had a huge photo session first with the opposing team before the scrimmage (I hope I can get a hold of a few of the pictures since my cell phone while it was getting dark wasn't the best.). The girls had a great time! Our team played exceptionally well and the girls had fun in the process--just how soccer is supposed to be!
Eating cupcakes and posing for pictures!
After the scrimmage, Mallory and Hayley invited several girls over to our home to "hang out" for two hours. We found them all something to eat and they had a great time together. We are very, very grateful that our girls have such GOOD friends! We couldn't ask for better!

Brittney's Soccer Team
Brittney is on a new soccer team this fall. She is playing with the Outlaws. She has a great coach and a really good friend from our ward on her team and she has made some new friends. Her team practices at the Weber County Fairgrounds and their home field is in Harrisville. We have played several teams from Layton. Tonight we played a team and Brittney scored our lone goal!
Way to go B!
(Don't you just love their colorful uniforms!)

Outlaws FC '04 Silver
Mallory and Hayley's soccer team is on our Outlaw FC club's website today!
http://outlawsfc.com
They really played hard in this game. The game was at 12:00 on August 17th and it was HOT!!! Like 99 degrees HOT! Our girls played so hard! Hayley ended up playing goalie the 2nd half because our goalie went out with heat exhaustion right before halftime. We only had 8 girls to start the game (we play 8 on 8) and so we played the whole second half with only 7 players and we lost 2-0 against a really good team (who also had 4-5 girls on their bench that they could sub in).
In our minds--that game was a win! Our girls played their hearts out!

Soccer Fall 2010
Mallory and Hayley had their 3rd soccer game of the season this morning!
Mallory is on a team with her good friends Abigale and Morgan and also, Ashley and JayLynn from our neighborhood. Mallory's team is called THE RED DRAGONS!! Today Mallory played awesome! She was able to score 4 goals and her friends Morgan scored at least 5!! It was so fun to watch them play. It is so different this year because we are playing AYSO and it is very different than Clinton City (AYSO doesn't use goalies and only 5 girls play at a time--Scott and I are trying to get used to it)!!!
Mallory giving us a "THUMBS UP" after scoring a goal--with Morgan and Abigale

Hayley's team this year is "THE PURPLE GRAPES"! Her division is very different in AYSO. She plays on this tiny little field with tiny little goalie nets and only 3 girls play at a time!! They have 4 five minute quarters so the game goes really fast!! Here are a few shots of Hayley playing today:

The "PURPLE BUTTERFLIES" play again
I finally took pictures of Mallory and Hayley playing spring soccer. Mallory is a strong forward and Hayley loves to play goalie!! Tonight, Mallory scored two goals and Hayley got in quite a few kicks herself! The girls are on a team with several girls from their team last fall--Justice, Georgia, Madison, Kallie and Hannah! It has been a lot of fun (I enjoy talking to the other Mom's I got to know in the fall, too!)!!!
