Award's Assembly at Fremont Elementary

This morning was the Award’s Assembly at school!

HOPE OF AMERICA AWARD given by Sunset City Mayor and Kiwanis Club President to Mallory (with  Erin)

HOPE OF AMERICA
The first award they did was the “Hope of America” Award. This award is given to the top 6th grade students at school from the Kiwanis Club who display leadership qualities. Mallory received this award from the Sunset City Mayor who is also the Kiwanis Club President for Northern Davis County. Mallory, Emmalee Slater, Kaylee Cardenas and Janeth Ameda received the award—all girls. Mallory’s teacher had told me she would be receiving this award three weeks ago so I could plan to be there. They had the parents come up and have our pictures taken when they gave the presentation. It was really neat! Mallory lead the Pledge of Allegiance in the assembly also.

MALLORY
Mallory received the following awards in the assembly:
·         -Hope of America
·         -Top Math Student in her class
·        - Davis Decathlon Participant
·        - Student Council 2015-2016
·         -Library Assistant Service Award
·         -Trophy for Davis County Math Olympiad participant

Mallory also received a class award of being the best writer in her class. I guess she got 29/30 on her Final State Writing Assessment!

HAYLEY:

Hayley received the following awards in the assembly:
·        - Davis Decathlon Participant
·        - Perfect Attendance Award for 2015-2016
·       -  Student Council 2015-2016
·      -  Library Assistant Service Award
·         -Trophy for Davis County Math Olympiad participant

Hayley was also called up as the 2016-2017 Student Council!!

BRITTNEY
Brittney received the following award in the assembly:
·        - Top Math Student in her class

After the Award’s Assembly, 2nd grade had their own trophy ceremony for all those who read 100 hours during the school year (which entails reading 25-30 minutes per night all school year). Brittney was so excited to get her trophy! She ended up turning in reading logs for over 140 hours but I know she read a lot more than that! Way to be Brittney B!!!

Real Monarch's Game

After school, we hurried and got ready to go to the Salt Lake Monarch’s game (the semi-pro soccer team) at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. We rode down with our friends, Danielle, Abigale, Preslie and Adalynn (Scott and Alan didn’t come since it was bishopric night). It was raining the whole way down. We brought coats, gloves, umbrellas, and blankets plus sandwiches and stuff to eat for dinner before going into the stadium. Brittney and Preslie’s team were able to be the “Dream Team” and walk the players out on to the field. Luckily, it stopped raining while we sat in the car eating. It did start sprinkling again about halfway through the game for about 10 minutes. After the game, the Monarch players came and signed the girl’s shirts and scarves (Brittney’s coach has connections) plus we stayed and got more signatures. I think the girls got about 12 signatures plus the mascot “Theo” to sign their things. We didn’t get home until 10:30 but it was a fun night and worth the loss the sleep.

Soccer in the POURING RAIN

Mallory and Hayley played in the pouring rain in Bountiful today!!! Soccer games are only canceled if there is lighting!! They didn’t have any subs but the played exceptionally well. They ended up winning 8-0 (Mallory scored twice). They were sopping wet and cold to the bone but they didn’t give up!

Even though Mallory and Hayley were frozen, the wanted to stop and get ice cream on the way home. Our new thing is to stop at Smith's (every once in awhile) and everyone picks out their own carton of ice cream-- same price as a small shake and you can enjoy it for a day or two (Mallory eats here in a day or two but some of us make it last a whole week)!

Lunch with the Mayor

Hayley was able to go to "Lunch with the Mayor" today for school. She was so excited! She rode from the school to the city building in a unmarked police car and back to school in an ambulance. Hayley can now say she has been in a police car and an ambulance (I've been in both too but for different reasons ;))!
Congratulations Hayley!

Sunday in St. George

Today the girls and I went to church with Darinda and Stacey's family. We kind of surprised them at church- we didn't tell them we were coming. Scott got sick last night-- everything has finally caught up with him so he stayed back at the hotel.

This afternoon, the girls and I went to the St. George Temple and visitors center.

We also went to the Brigham Young winter home and had a great time. Mallory loved taking pictures for us. We learned some interesting thing.

St. George Ice Breakers Tournament 2016

We went to St. George for the  annual St. George Ice-Breakers tournament for Mallory and Hayley. Last week, Mallory, Hayley and Sarah Strong made a plan for the weekend! Too funny! I wonder how many things will actually happen!!
"The Plan" Mallory, Hayley and Sarah made
We arrived Friday night about 9:30. There are several other families here at the same hotel and the girls have loved that. Their first game today they lost 5-2. We were a little rusty the first half-- trying to remember how to play outside. By the time they remembered, it was a little too late. Mallory made both goals in the first game.

The second game was a lot better, we won 5-1 and Mallory scored two of the goals. The girls swam last night and had a scavenger hunt and had a great time together. We bought pizza at the Domino's Pizza nearby and the girls enjoyed eating and swimming and moving from room to room! Good times!

Indoor Soccer--Utah United

Indoor soccer has FINALLY started up again for Mallory and Hayley. Their team took December and January off (which was really nice from a parent standpoint) but Mallory and Hayley have been chomping at the bit to start again. They have had a rough time going to Brittney's games the past two months knowing that they are not playing! It has been really fun to watch them play. Our team is playing at two different places so they will get their indoor soccer fix!

Hayley has played goalie a few times and she takes it pretty serious. It stresses me out watching her in the goalie box but she is also fun to watch. Hayley has pretty good footwork, so sometimes she will roll the ball out to herself and take it down the field leaving our goalie box wide open-- most teams aren't expecting it and she goes down and gets a great pass off to another teammate.

Our girls are so blessed to play with such wonderful teammates--they love to have their friends come over after games or practice and hang out together. Here are a few pictures from their first games.....

Hayley

Tonight Hayley asked if she could make dinner! Of course, I let her! She made egg sandwiches which were delicious! She did everything all on her own! She will be a great catch one day! Love you Hayley!!

Letter to my parents from Hayley-- I love all her emoji's!

HI. I miss you guys so much.πŸ˜‚ Time has gone by way fast it has already been 2 months!

Every day before school (while we are driving) we are trying to memorize t
All the articles of faith. We are now number 6. Some times we are like "can we at least listen to the radio?" But now there is some bad songs that have swear words
In them. I fell better at school ever since we have been doing that. Yesterday we had Brittney's ⚽️ game. They tied. But over all they won. The score was 5 to 5. They switched goalies at haft time. The first goalie was Brittney's friend that had came on the team at the same time Brittney did. The other goalie was named "Kate". She was a little shorter than Brittney. She stopped a P.K (penalty kick). Brittney scored 2 out of the 5 goals that were scored. Her coach and his daughter was not there. It made a big difference. They played really good.
On Friday we did not have soccer practice.πŸ˜‚ Yesterday we went to church. Now we have 9 A.M church. I woke up extra early to read my scriptures. We have't had a ⚽️game since the first of December. The reason we have't had a game in a long time is because it has the start of a new season. We all got our ears pierced. Look at the attachment that I am going to send you.

ind
When we got them pierced it all went well except for when the gun got stuck in Mallory's ear. It was weird because Mallory's face looked like she was going to cry. The lady that did them got the earnings mixed up so I went first. So now I have prettier ones than them. Mine have face diamonds in them when Mallory and Brittney got boring ones.😎
We are off of school for Monday and Tuesday.YEAH. I am really glad. We are going to go Ice Fishing on Tuesday morning. I πŸ’—Ice Fishing. We went about a week or so ago and we would have got one but Brittney get real it up in time.
I hope that you guys are enjoying yourself on your mission. I wish that I could jump thru the iPad and come with this Email and go thru your iPad and see you. We all miss you very much.πŸ’•

                                                                                  Love: HayleyRopelato πŸ’–

Ear Piercing Day

Today was the day! I took Mallory, Hayley and Brittney to the mall to get their ears pierced at Claire's. They had each received $30 along with their coupon from Santa to use to get their ears pierced. They all decided to go with a basic package and then buy a set of earrings with the rest of their money. Their was a great excitement in the air!

Hayley went first. They all got to hold a little bear--just incase they were a little scared! They all did great! No one cried or even said "ouch"!

Next was Brittney's turn! She said it hurt until they put the solution on to clean them after!

Mallory was last! She was too cool to hold the bear the right way! Haha! One of the ladies got her gun stuck on Mallory's ear and had to press the trigger again to get it off! I didn't get a picture because I was a little worried for a minute!

They girls love their new look! They keep asking if they look different and if it is ok to turn them again. I told them to turn them as much as they like! It was a pretty exciting day! A great Christmas present!

Utah United Indoor Game

Mallory and Hayley had another indoor game today 7:30 a.m. (I really like the 1 and 2 in the afternoon games). They won 15 or so to zero. Mallory made about 4 goals and Hayley made one too! Hayley was really excited (Hayley has been playing solely defense for awhile so this goal was big). Hayley played goalie for about 12 minutes and did an amazing job—she just jumps on the ball whenever it comes in the box (she just pounces on it!). ! It was fun to watch them play.

Hayley--Jazz Game

Hayley was invited to attend the Utah Jazz game with her friend Grace Bailey and her family (Grace's little brother wasn't feeling well so Hayley took his ticket--we had to make Gage a little thank you treat)! Hayley had a great time and said they had awesome seats!!

Thanks Bailey's for inviting Hayley!
