We decided to do several "close to home camping trips" this summer. This week we went to Pineview Reservoir (it's only about 30 minutes from home and about 20 minutes from Scott's work) and had a blast (we were gone from Monday, July 5th until Thursday, July 8th). We invited our friends, the Gardiner's, to come with us (we also invited our friends the John's but they weren't able to come and stay--they did come up and eat dinner, swim and wave run with us one night - and we are so glad they were able to come). It was so nice and relaxing! We stayed in Anderson Cove Campground and our campsites were close to one of the sandy beaches. Melanie and I stayed with the kids camping while John and Scott went to work each day then we were able to waverun and hang out in the evenings all together.
John's came up on Tuesday night and ate dinner with us, played in the water and rode the waverunnners (we talked Alan into going on a ride--he didn't bring his swimsuit but he did go out and his shorts did get wet--SORRY--but we hope you had fun!!).
On Wednesday night, we had a surprise visit from two of the Young Single Adults--Tattianna and Trent. They came up and rode the waverunners, ate dinner with us and talked around the campfire until very late with us. It was a lot of fun!!
The kids all had a blast playing together! Melanie and I each brought several activities for the kids to do together during the day. The kids painted suncatchers, made "Firecracker" snacks, water color painted, played in the sand, played in the water, rode the waverunners, played games, painted rocks, rode bikes and scooters, and just had fun being together. Here are a few pictures from our CLOSE TO HOME VACATION--
